These words were heard by each of us, but not everyone thought about their meaning. But in my opinion, it is necessary to think about it. Who can guarantee us today that we will continue to live in peace? The history of our Fatherland is more a history of wars than of peaceful construction.
Yes, protecting the Fatherland is a sacred duty of our country's citizens, especially young citizens. After all, the people always count on young and strong defenders.
So it was in my family. Both of my great-grandfathers went to the front when the Great Patriotic War broke out. One of them fought on Smolensk land and died in 1942.
Both grandfathers, Mikhail Ivanovich and Alexey Nikolaevich, became officers. The first graduated from the General Staff, the second was a pilot, then served in the military space forces.
And when the time came, my father, Alexey Azanov, also put on shoulder straps. Well, now it's my turn. And no matter what they say about the army today, no matter what passions they write, I firmly know: That's where I belong. I realized that a long time ago. But recent events have only confirmed the correctness of the choice.
In the fall, our class of the 172nd school in Northern Tushin went to the area of Volokolamsk on the Dubosekov siding. Here Panfilov's division stopped the fascists rushing to Moscow. Twenty-eight Panfilov members performed their feat here.
When you visit these places, many things are seen differently. You can't help but wonder: what would have happened to Moscow if Panfilov's fighters had reasoned like some modern young people, my peers.
Panfilov residents gave the most precious thing - their lives, saving the capital and the country. And today, on the pages of newspapers and on television, disputes often flare up: why waste two years on the army? Then, they say, you will not fit into the business, and you will forget what you were taught.
And they, our great-grandfathers, who survived the war, who returned, managed and were able to fit into that difficult post-war life. First they defended the country, then raised it from the ruins and brought it to the space track. By the way, my grandfather, the son of a front-line soldier, managed Lunokhod-2. This is just a small touch to confirm what was said.
In fairness, it should be noted that our school treats the memory of front-line soldiers very carefully. In 1975, the museum of military glory was opened here. In 1983, he was named after Hero of the Soviet Union Sergey Ivanovich Solntsev. We are often visited by graduates of the war years, veterans of the 309th Guards mortar Regiment, which was formed within the walls of our school. These meetings are held warmly and solemnly.
OBZH teacher Vladimir Mikhailovich Savin spends a lot of effort introducing children to military affairs. High school students successfully pass the standards for military and physical training.
Thus, our school not only educates patriotism, but also instills military skills.
I think it's important right now. I am sure that I also made the decision to become an officer under the influence of my family and school.
And I have an army ahead of me. I dream of becoming a military man. Even if it doesn't sound fashionable today. I know one thing: protecting the Motherland is a sacred duty.
