The first international symposium "Kyrgyz-Turkic relations from ancient times to the present day"was held on May 5-7, 2013 under the auspices of President of Turkey A. Gul and President of Kyrgyzstan A. Atanbayev at the Uludag University in Bursa. It is organized by Kyrgyz scientists, university professors and businessmen working in Turkey and Kyrgyzstan, Turkish researchers of Central Asia, Russian scientists studying the problems of medieval history of the ancient Turks and Kyrgyz.

According to the speaker, the ethnonym "Kyrgyz" can mean "steppe tribes", and some "Samoyedic" words have been preserved in the language of the Yenisei Kyrgyz. Yu. S.
